Who we are

HipGen is run by SkybleLab Inc ("SkybleLab", "we", "us"). This policy explains how we handle personal information when you use the HipGen website and its tools (the "Service"). SkybleLab is the controller of that information. Questions or requests: hello@skyblelab.ai.

What we collect

Things you give us

  • Account details: your email address, and your name and profile picture if you sign in with Google.
  • What you create with: photos you upload, topics, prompts, lyrics and settings you choose.
  • Messages: what you send us by email or support tickets.
  • Purchases: what you bought, when, and the amount. Stripe collects your card details; we only see limited details such as the card brand and last four digits.

Things the Service creates

  • Your outputs: the lyrics, vocals, songs, beats and videos you generate, with their settings and status.
  • Account records: your credit balance and history, plan, orders and usage rights.

Things collected automatically

  • Technical data: IP address, browser and device type, language, pages viewed and errors, kept in server logs for security and troubleshooting.
  • Cookies and similar storage: see our Cookie Policy. Analytics cookies are only set if you choose "Accept all".

We don't collect precise location, and we don't ask for sensitive information. Please don't put sensitive information about yourself or others in prompts or lyrics.

About photos and faces

Photos are used only to make the videos you ask for. We send them to our AI service providers to generate your video and store them so you can see and re-use your creations. We don't use photos to identify people, we don't build face databases, and we don't sell them or use them for advertising. We don't train our own AI models on your photos or your outputs.

Only upload photos of yourself or of people who have given you permission (see our Content Policy).

How we use information

  • To run the Service: create accounts, sign you in, generate your lyrics, songs and videos, save them to My creations, and keep your credits, plan and usage rights correct. (Basis: our contract with you.)
  • To take payments and keep records required by tax and accounting law. (Contract; legal obligation.)
  • To keep HipGen safe: prevent fraud, abuse and content that breaks our rules, and secure our systems. (Legitimate interests; legal obligation.)
  • To improve HipGen: understand which pages and tools people use and where things go wrong, with analytics. (Your consent for analytics cookies; legitimate interests for cookieless analytics and server statistics.)
  • To talk to you: sign-in links, receipts, notices about your account or changes to our terms, and replies to your questions. (Contract; legitimate interests.)

We don't make decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects based solely on automated processing.

Who we share it with

We don't sell or rent your personal information, and we don't share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only with service providers who help us run HipGen, under contracts that limit how they can use it:

  • Vercel: hosting the website and servers.
  • Neon: our database (accounts, credits, orders, creation records).
  • Cloudflare R2: storing uploaded photos and finished files.
  • Third-party AI service providers: generating lyrics, vocals, music and video from your input.
  • Stripe: payments, subscriptions and fraud prevention.
  • Our email provider: sending sign-in links and account emails.
  • Google: sign-in with Google (if you use it) and Google Analytics (unless you turn analytics cookies off; in the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland, only if you accept them).
  • Plausible: cookieless, aggregated visit statistics.
  • pvuv.ai: visitor and traffic statistics (unless you turn analytics cookies off; in the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland, only if you accept them).
  • OpenPanel, on our own analytics server: cookieless product analytics (pages viewed and actions such as writing lyrics, starting a rap or buying credits), linked to your account ID, email and name when you're signed in.

We may also share information when the law requires it, to protect the rights, safety or property of our users, SkybleLab or others, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets (with notice to you).

Where it's processed

SkybleLab is based in the United States, and our providers process information in the United States and other countries. When we transfer personal information from the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, we rely on safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

  • Account details, credits and order history: while your account is open. Order and payment records are kept as long as tax and accounting laws require (usually up to 7 years).
  • Photos, prompts and outputs: while your account is open, so My creations keeps working, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
  • Server logs: usually up to 30 days.
  • Analytics data: Google Analytics and OpenPanel data are kept for up to 14 months.

When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your information within 30 days, except what we must keep by law, and copies in backups that are overwritten on a regular schedule.

Your choices and rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to access, correct, download or delete your personal information, or to delete your account, by emailing hello@skyblelab.ai from your account email. We'll respond within 30 days (45 days where California law allows), and we may need to confirm it's you. You can also change your cookie choice at any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA). You have the right to know what personal information we collect, use and disclose; to delete it; to correct it; and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We don't sell or share personal information as those terms are defined, and we don't use sensitive personal information for purposes that would need a limit. We won't treat you differently for using your rights. You can use an authorized agent; we may ask for proof of their authority. In the past 12 months we collected the categories listed under "What we collect" (identifiers, commercial information, internet activity, and photos you upload) for the purposes above and disclosed them to the service providers listed above.

EEA, UK and Swiss residents (GDPR). You also have the right to object to or restrict processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time (this doesn't affect earlier processing). You can complain to your local data protection authority, but please contact us first so we can try to help.

Security

We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, encrypted storage of secrets and other measures to protect your information. No system is completely secure; if a breach affects you, we'll tell you as the law requires.

Children

HipGen is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, email hello@skyblelab.ai and we'll delete it. Never upload a photo of a minor without their parent's or guardian's consent.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. If the change is material, we'll tell you by email or in the Service before it takes effect, and we'll update the date at the top of this page.
